There is a love and hate relationship going on here...
It has been quite an experience to be here in Ping Tung. The children here are... what's the word.... "straight forward." Most of the students are very outgoing and outspoken. If they want something, they'll let you know. They are willing to try new things as long as they are interested. If they are not interested, they will not do anything. They like to argue and yet they play together. They like to shout and scream which make me appreciate our OC kids so much more. They also like to hit and slap people.
So what can I say about our relationship with them. We love them soooooo much! They are super adorable! But at the same time, it does require extra energy just to teach through 8 hour days.
Classes went well overall today. We had a conversational class today where we taught the students how to order food from fast food places. We had some students pretend to be cashiers and some to be customers, we even used our black board to make a menu with lots of items. Students had to use English phrases we taught them to welcome customers and to order food. It was a neat experiment and the kids loved it!
Praise God that we had dinner early today so we finished our nightly meeting early as well. It is now time to take a shower...... supposedly they fixed the cold water issue.... but we'll see..... it's either 4 in a row or I will be taking my first hot shower here in Ping Tung.
